Welcome to Jamia Masjid Riaz ul Jannah! Our journey began with a divine inspiration and a dream that transcended time. The masjid under construction is named Riaz ul Jannah, a tribute to our celebrated master Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), signifying our pride as Muslims.
Story
Our History
The mosque has been designated as Riaz ul Jannah, reflecting its significance and association with our esteemed leader, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). It is a manifestation of our pride in being Muslims. All members of our community are earnestly requested to pray for the enduring connection of Jamia Masjid Riaz ul Jannah with the revered Riaz ul Jannah Masjid Nabawi (PBUH). Ameen!
The Inspiration and History of Riaz ul Jannah
The construction site for Jamia Masjid Riaz ul Jannah is situated on Tusla Road, Rawalpindi Cantonment, on a piece of land that has remained vacant since 1825. Despite numerous attempts by the landowner’s family to sell it from 1825 to 2007, they were unsuccessful.
Dr. Sohail Majid Sheikh, the Custodian and President of Jamia Masjid Riaz ul Jannah & Islamic Complex, came to reside opposite this land in 1994. In 1997, he had a recurring dream urging him to build a mosque on the very site where it is now being constructed. Initially, he dismissed the dream, but its persistence led him to approach the landowner, Mulazim Hussain, who adamantly refused to sell the land for mosque construction.
Disturbed by the recurring dream, Dr. Sohail sought divine guidance and, within hours, Mulazim Hussain, seemingly moved by unknown forces, requested a meeting. Despite initial reluctance, Dr. Sohail agreed to meet him the next morning. During the meeting, Mulazim Hussain, with an abrupt change of heart, offered the land willingly for the construction of the mosque, appointing Dr. Sohail as its lifelong custodian.
Dr. Sohail, expressing gratitude, prayed on the land and announced the construction of the mosque immediately. The approval for the mosque’s construction was sought in 2008.
The inspiration behind the mosque’s name, Riaz ul Jannah, came from a dream Dr. Sohail had, and his father, Sheikh Abdul Hameed (RA), who passed away in 2012, played a pivotal role. Sheikh Abdul Hameed, known for his piety, had a dream instructing Dr. Sohail to name the mosque ‘Riaz ul Jannah.’ This divine guidance was followed, and respected individuals witnessed miraculous events, reinforcing the belief that Dr. Sohail was chosen for this sacred mission.
Various incidents, including the unexpected appearance of Qari Hameed ul Haq, a custodian from the Exalted Madina, further validated the divine selection of Dr. Sohail for this noble endeavor.
In sharing this account, it is emphasized that clear signals and indications of divine approval should be acknowledged by all. Pure intentions attract the blessings of Allah (SWT) and Prophet Muhammad (SAW). May Allah (SWT) grant longevity, prosperity, and protection to Dr. Sohail and bless the success of this mission. The name “Riaz ul Jannah” signifies a special grant from the Prophet, designating this space as part of paradise. I am dedicated to illuminating this space with the same light and guidance as Masjid-e-Nabawi.
I invite you to participate in this divine project. Recall the story of the old woman contributing a single brick, earning her a palace in paradise. Your contributions, big or small, will leave a lasting impact.
